The Magic Fan by Keith Baker is a picture book with so many layers. It takes real talent to write a book about a natural disaster that is aimed at children. This book exposes children to diversity in culture, supports imagination, and encourages self-discovery. It is a great story for children who enjoy building things as they will relate to Yoshi, the main character in the story who eventually builds an amazing rainbow-shaped bridge for the people of his village. There is so much packed into this little book and any time I have read the story, the children have been riveted. This is a great one to add to your collection!
Thank you for reading!
